This article covers Pendo Rent 2.0 screens. Which screens a lease opens depends on the lease itself, not your account switch. Not sure which you're looking at? See: Which version am I looking at?
Do my existing leases change? #
Your existing leases don't change. They keep opening the same screens they always have, and anything you've already sent your tenant stays exactly as it is. If you create a new lease while Pendo Rent 2.0 is on, that lease keeps the new screens, even if you switch back later. Nothing is deleted either way.
What the switch does #
The switch picks the default screens for your account. It is account-wide. It changes the screens for every user on the account, not just for you.
It sits at the top right of the header, and in your account it shows as "Pendo 2.0". Account owners see it. Staff do not, and some accounts do not have it at all.

What about a lease I already sent but nobody has signed? #
Nothing happens to it. It stays exactly as it is, on the screens it was created with, and the link your tenant already has keeps working.
One thing to know: resending that lease later sends the same link again, so an older email still works. Revising the lease is what creates fresh links and stops the old ones working.
Which screens a lease opens #
The lease decides, not the switch.
- A lease created in Classic keeps the Classic screens.
- A lease created in the new lease wizard keeps the new screens for its whole life, even if you switch the account back later. A few leases carry an older agreement document, and those keep the Classic screens.
- If you open a Pendo Rent 2.0 lease while your account is on Classic, you may see a short message first. Opening the lease to read it offers Continue; opening it to make changes offers Open editor. Either is expected, not an error. Staff without permission to edit lease agreements can still read the lease, but it opens read-only rather than in the editor. Tick Do not show this again and the message stops appearing on that browser.
So one account can hold leases on both sets of screens at the same time. That is normal, and nothing is deleted either way.
Switching back #
Same switch, other direction. When you switch back you get an optional prompt asking what made you switch back. Answering it is up to you.
A note for staff #
If your screens changed and you did not do anything, either your account owner switched the account or we moved it as part of the rollout. That works in both directions: we can move an account back to Classic too. The switch is account-wide and only owners see it, so either way this can land without warning. Nothing was lost, and your existing leases still open the screens they always have.
