When you send a PendoPay invitation to your tenant, they will receive an email asking them to get started with setup. From that email, they can click the green Get Started button to begin the application.

After clicking Get Started, the tenant will be taken to the digital PendoPay setup form. They will need to review and sign the pre-authorized debit (PAD) authorization so Pendo and its payment providers can process rental-related charges through their bank account.


Once the form has been completed and signed, the tenant can click Next, Connect Bank Account at the bottom of the form. A pop-up will then appear, prompting them to choose how they want to connect their bank account.

If the tenant chooses to connect their bank account online, they will be prompted to select their financial institution and securely sign in through the bank connection flow. After the account details are verified, they can choose the specific account they want to use for PendoPay. Once that is complete, they should be redirected to the success confirmation screen.

If the tenant chooses to connect their bank account manually, they will need to enter their banking information directly. Depending on the setup flow, they may also need to provide details from a void cheque or direct deposit form. After submitting that information, they should be redirected to the same success confirmation screen.

Once completed, the tenant should be redirected to the Success confirmation:

If the tenant connected their bank account online, their PendoPay setup may be ready to use right away. If they choose a manual connection, a small micro-deposit may be sent to their account and they will receive an email asking them to verify the deposited amount before setup is completed.
